Achillea millefolium
Achillea millefolium
Yarrow
Achillea millefolium is a native Asteraceae plant that has long been used as a remedy for wounds and gastrointestinal diseases. With numerous cultivated varieties with red and yellow flowers, it is easy to care for, robust and hardy, ideal for perennial beds and rock gardens. The typical umbels attract bees, butterflies and other insects. It can be propagated by seed or division, but be careful: it can spread quickly through creeping rhizomes and self-seeding and is poisonous to pets.
Nevertheless, it should not be missing from any garden...
