Euphorbia cyparissias
Euphorbia cyparissias
Cypress Spurge
Native spurge plant with strong rhizomes and forms offshoots. The herb resembles fir branches due to its dense, thin leaves. It grows to around 40 cm high and has striking yellow-green pseudo-flowers that it forms on the many shoots. It tolerates drought and sun very well. It is an important nectar plant for a variety of insects. It is a caterpillar food and a source of nectar for 21 native butterfly species! The poisonous milky sap can cause skin irritation and ulcers, so wear gloves when cutting and exercise a little caution ;) Otherwise, it is a great added value for the garden and balcony! Just be brave...
